International Experience

In doing so, our lawyers have accumulated in-depth knowledge of complex legal issues relating to private international law. We have:

1. prosecuted claims under commercial contracts governed by English law entered into by companies centred and managed outside the UK, in States of the US, the Far-East, countries in continental Europe;
2. defended foreign companies and individuals in English High Court litigation for serious infringements of intellectual property rights, breach of contract, misuse and unlawful disclosures of confidential information and fraud in UK Courts;
3. acted for manufacturers, financial institutions, venture capitalists, investors, manufacturers, global distributors, and high technology service providers;
4. acted for companies located on 5 of the 5 continents;
5. obtained evidence using an abridged procedure from other countries in Europe for use in English legal proceedings;
6. assessed the likely whereabouts and locations of evidence and then obtaining it from other countries. One of our solicitors was responsible for obtaining only the third Norwich Pharmacal Orders emanating from Seychelles;
7. structuring legal claims for portability and export to different legal systems for enforcement;
8. devising methods of pursuit of fraudsters, and collation of incriminating evidence.

Foreign Judgments

Our London law firm has also:

1. advised on routes of enforcement of foreign judgments through English Courts;
2. devised claims to jurisdiction to base proceedings in England;
3. enforced judgments in over 10 different jurisdictions, including the Americas, Australasia, continental Europe, and the usual tax havens; and
4. represented companies with foreign money judgments to have those judgments recognised in England and enforced in the UK.
